Privacy
There is no account, no sign in, no email, no advertising and no tracker. Your progress stays on your device. The game does send back a small record of how a run went, and you can turn that off in Settings.
What stays on your device
The game keeps one record: which pools you have finished, how many stars you hold, which rhythms you have been asked about and how often you read them correctly, your settings, and your Daily Rapids results. That record lives in your own browser's local storage, on the device you played on. Nothing in it identifies you, because the game never asks for anything that would.
What the game sends back
This is new, and it is the only thing that leaves the device on its own. When you run a pool, the game sends: which water you ran, when you started and stopped, how you finished it, how far you got if you did not finish, your screen size and whether you are on a phone or a desktop, and for each rhythm you were asked to read, whether you got it right and which sign you steered into.
It does not send a name, an email, an address, a phone number, an IP-based location, or anything you typed. There is no account to attach it to. What ties one run to the next is a random id the game generated on this device the first time it ran, which means nothing to anyone and points to nobody.
It exists for one reason: to show where the river is teaching badly. If forty people quit at the same fork, that fork is wrong, and this is the only way anyone finds out. It is read as counts, not as people.
Turning it off
Settings, then Send anonymous play data. Off means off: no session, no answers, nothing. The game plays exactly the same either way, and nothing is held back from you for saying no. The choice is kept on your device and covers every one of our games on it, so you only have to say it once.
One thing still sends after you turn it off: a snag you write and send yourself from Report a snag. That one goes because you wrote it and tapped Send. It carries what you typed, the screen you were on, which water you were running, whether it was a pool or a drill or the Daily, your screen size and your browser’s user agent string, and nothing else.
Where it goes
To a Supabase database we run, in the United States, and to a Slack channel we read. It is not sold, not shared and not given to an advertiser or a data broker, and there is no analytics company involved.
How to delete it
Clearing site data for this site in your browser removes the on-device record completely, and uninstalling the installed app does the same. For what has already been sent, write to nubiochris@gmail.com and say when you played and roughly what you ran, and it gets deleted. There is nothing in it that names you, so that is the only way to find it.
What it costs
Nothing. The whole river is free, in the app and on the web, and there is nothing inside it to buy. No subscription, no advertising, and no account to make.
If an unlock is ever added, the store handles it end to end. Sinus Creek would never see your name, your email, your address or your card: it would ask Apple or Google one question, whether this device holds the purchase, and keep the yes or no in the same local record as everything else. This page would say so before the game did.
Third parties
One: Supabase, which hosts the database the run record goes to. That is the whole list. No advertising, no trackers, no embedded fonts from another host, no crash reporting, no social widgets, and nothing that follows you to another site.
Cookies
None. The game uses your browser's local storage, which stays on the device and is not sent to anyone with a request the way a cookie is.
Children
The game is a study tool for nurses, paramedics and students, and it is not directed at children. It never asks anyone their age, their name or their email, and it collects nothing that would identify a person of any age.
What this is not
Sinus Creek is a teaching game. It is not a monitor, it is not a diagnostic tool, and it is not medical advice. It deliberately contains no drug doses. Nothing in it should be used to make a decision about a real patient.
Who makes it
Sinus Creek is made by OxidativeRN in partnership with Data Divers LLC. The Supabase database above is OxidativeRN’s, and OxidativeRN is who answers about anything on this page.
Getting help
The support page covers silent sound, missing progress and how to reach a person. Anything about your data, write to nubiochris@gmail.com.
Changes
If this ever changes, the change will be on this page before it is in the game.
